“HT Lawyers & Law Firm is one of the fastest-growing law firms in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates. We have a team of specialised and diverse divorce lawyers. They provide professional and practical legal advice and assistance for divorce cases in Dubai and UAE. Our team's hands-on experience in family and divorce laws of foreign countries is one of our biggest strengths. ”

The majority of divorce cases transpire for almost the same reasons not only in the UAE but across the world. Lack of communication, differences between spouses or families, inability to provide for financially, emotionally, and physically, extramarital affairs and domestic abuse happen to be some of the common reasons. In this situation, hiring the right divorce lawyers is crucial as they hold great sway over the case proceedings and outcome right from the very beginning.

A few key factors must be considered before hiring a divorce lawyer. The law firm’s specialisation in family law, practical experience and the divorce lawyers’ diversity in the knowledge of different jurisdictions of the marriage acts around the globe are a few. The latter is extremely important in the UAE, especially Dubai, as it is a multicultural and cosmopolitan place.

The divorce proceedings for Muslim and UAE Nationals are conducted as per the Sharia or UAE law. The same law applies to a Muslim husband with a non-Muslim wife. However, non-Muslim expatriates can file a divorce in the UAE with the option to apply the law of their home country. Alimony and custody of children are also governed by the same principles.

Our team has the knowledge and experience in various marriage acts including Sharia Law and Hindu Law for divorce filing in Dubai, to name a few. This enables us to represent clients from different countries and laws. We provide practical legal advice on how to file a divorce case in Dubai and across the United Arab Emirates.

How to File a Divorce Case in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates (UAE)?

  • Case Registration – Our divorce lawyers assist in the registration of the case at the Family Guidance Section in the applicable Emirate. At this stage, our divorce lawyers will come up with a roadmap to determine the actions to be taken moving forward.
  • Reconciliation – This is a mandatory stage. Here, both parties can raise their concerns and try to reconcile and reach a divorce settlement. Although legal representatives are not involved here, we ensure that our clients do not go to conciliations unprepared. We give them a proper briefing before the scheduled meeting.
  • Court Proceedings (Court Of First Instance, Court Of Appeal, or Court Of Cessation) – Court proceedings happen when the conciliation process for a mutual divorce fails. During this stage, evidence is presented by both parties to support their arguments. The judge passes judgement after hearing the arguments from both sides. To date, we have successfully represented clients from all parts of the world in all court proceedings and obtained favourable judgements.
  • Enforcement – After the judgement is passed by the above courts, the divorce case is taken to the Enforcement Court. This court issues the final verdict and makes sure that both the parties follow the terms of the judgement.

We are proud to inform you that HT Lawyers & Law Firm has successfully handled divorce filing and representation for numerous clients. We have helped our clients obtain the rights to alimony, custody of children, parental consent, fair divorce settlement, marital property and financial disputes, claims and compensations.
